• 1945 — delegates from over forty nations, representing 80 percent of the world’s population, came together to form the United Nations at the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco.

• December 1961 — Tony Bennett first sang his famous song, "I Left My Heart in San Francisco," at The Fairmont Hotel San Francisco.

• October 29 & 30 2018 — The inaugural UCOT2018 will be held at the Fairmont San Francisco. At UCOT, we believe that the negative consequences of technology are some of the most pressing challenges of our time and will affect many future lifetimes to come.
